Repurposing Shellfish Waste

We were challenged to create a new material out of waste. Using leftover shellfish waste recovered from local seafood restaurant Crabshakk, Finnieston, we developed a new bioplastic made from oyster and lobster shells.

Calcium carbonate, a substance found in oyster shells can be used as a fertiliser
